Omg help plz I need ur input!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I'm not goth/emo/sence/punk etc but I've been lately been discovering my feminite side and wanted to know if painting my nails black would be a good idea to ask my parents. I only paint them clear and there ok with it but my dad is very um idk how to say it but resentful. And idk how I should ask them I plan on telling my mom before him. And I really wanna paint my nails black
